Milo Before & After

One of my original pictures of Milo from 2014 showed up in my Facebook "On This Day" newsfeed today. This is him playing dead because he was tired of me force feeding him and giving him shots. He was very convincing at playing dead!

Milo took months to get healthy again. He was a mess! Once we got him over his respiratory infection and shed off his nasty sand-stained scales, he became a beautiful and mellow beardie. He never did grow any bigger though. He's one of our "Pocket Size" beardies.

My youngest begged to adopt Milo and I let him. ;) Milo is his special buddy and we use him as an example of how mellow beardies can be. I wish I could clone him.

Here's Milo now. He is always happy to play dress up with me for my Etsy shop.

Milo's Celebrity Impersonation

Milo's shed pattern ended up being very white and very odd this time. :)

Snuggle Time

Tonight I have FOUR beardies wrapped in blankies and sleeping on my chest: Milo, Delilah, Dory, and Mooshy. Best part of the night. :)

Parade Fun

Our city has a yearly Independence Day parade that runs right by our house. Every year we take out critters and do an impromptu reptile show with our neighbors.

This year we took out Lucy the snake, Turbo the iguana, and Milo & Ozzie the bearded dragons.

Hermy always has a great time walking along the fence and meeting people. It's her favorite day of the summer.

She is a social butterfly and adores the attention. Lil Foot was not interested in the people at the fence and left every time we brought him over.

Return of Summer

Ziggy & Max believe their only cage should be outside in the sun. These two would be happiest free roaming in some great desert somewhere! ;)

Thankfully today is warm enough to put them in their outdoor cages.

Max is in a hamster/rat cage and Ziggy is in a bunny/guinea pig cage. Each has perching spots and plenty of shade that I shift around during the day.

The baby tortoises are in their outdoor pen which also has plenty of shade and some shallow water dishes. Heidi walks around and Georgie hides.

All the other guys are in sunny windows.

Milo:

Grumps:

Finn:

I love giving my guys direct sunshine & sunny windows and my electric bill (and my husband) love all those lights being turned off.

I have one more cage to set up outside and then I'll rotate the other beardies through, giving each of them a couple hours of sunshine. Tiger *hated* outside time last year so he may not get much outdoor time this year. If my beardies hate it, I only take them outside with me.

Milo's Morning

Milo has proved that he is NOT a morning bearded dragon.

That's his "Really? You want me get up?" face.

Long Overdue Update

I've been a blog slacker! Sorry!

Grumps still has his spastic moments but almost every night he lets me wrap him up in his blankie and snuggle him.

Chomps kept having severe diarrhea and so I did a fecal test on her, found some pin worms, and deformed her. She is still very thin and not super active, but she eats well and loves to snuggle.

Turbo got his stitches out and has learned to wear his leash. He is happy to go on walks and meet new people.

Georgie is still adorable!

Hermy has been eating great! She gets up early in the morning and walks to the back door to go outside.

Sancho got a clean bill of health at the vet today. He says she looks good & should still have a long healthy life.

Milo has had a really bloated belly, but a fecal test only showed a few coccidia. I'm treating him for that to see if it helps.

Max & Ziggy are anxiously awaiting summer so they can spend their days outside in their summer cages.

Finn is still a frightened spaz. He does let me wrap him in his blankie at night and cuddle him. He's in my shirt right now.

Here's me with FOUR snuggled beardies in my shirt -- Chomps, Grumps, Finn, & Milo.

And just for fun, here's my cute dogs:

I have foot surgery scheduled for the last Monday  of April. I'll be unable to drive for two weeks and will wear a walking boot for up to 8 weeks. My rescue will be put on hold during my recovery. I'm hopeful that Chomps & Grumps will be well enough to foster by then, but we'll see.
