Summer Surviving

I've gotten lazy with the blog as I try to survive summer vacation with my kids. I post all the time on Instagram, but neglect this blog because I still don't have a good app that works. What's up with the Weather, Utah?!?

We've had some snow here in Utah lately-- as in all this week. By this morning, we had almost two feet of snow. Here's a pic of the front of my house. 

Later today my favorite weather app told me about the temperature. This was the HIGH for today. Ugh!!

And I said "Utah! This is why I do NOT live in Canada! or Nova Scotia! Or Montana! Sheesh!"

He (she?) must have heard me. Tonight the weather is this:

Negative 3.


YUCK!

I'm already counting the days till Spring. Like when I made a follow appointment for my son's braces on the 28th of February, I thought "Oh, just a few weeks before Spring."

Spring.

And temperatures above freezing.

That's what I'm dreaming of.

And for all you cold weather people, feel free to make me feel better by posting your highs in the comments. I know people have it worse than negative 3 tonight. Brrr. Why do we live where the air freezes our nose hairs when we walk outside?!? ;)

Summer Heat

I'm pretty sure my tortoises are the only ones really enjoying the heat here in Utah. It's been over 100 degrees with a predicted high of 103 for Friday. 

Hermy, as you can see, is quite enjoying the summer sun. 

Hot!!!

It's Summer! And HOT!

All 5 of my tortoises are outside all day, enjoying the heat while sleeping in the shade. Like Hermy here. 

Still Here

This summer is flying by me way, way, way too fast! It's all I can do some days to keep up with my kids and my pets and my Etsy shop.

Even though my blog is quiet, I'm still here and doing what I do. :)

Just had to add that in so you didn't think I'd disappeared. I'll try to do an update on all my beardies at the beginning of next week. Zeus' mouth is finally (mostly) clearing up. Phew!

Lazy Days of Summer

Not much new to report around here. I have taken a break from taking in sickly reptiles and am just keeping my little collection of reptiles healthy. Max & Ziggy spend most of their days outside in their summer cages and *love* it. Sancho goes outside for a few hours a day. I'm still trying to get Daisy over her cold. Bentley has decided he's the Loch Ness monster and lives in his water dish.

Enjoy the warm weather with your reptiles. Direct sunshine is the single best thing you can do for your beardies (and other lizards) today. :)
