Why I should NOT be allowed in Pet Stores, part 4

I can't remember if I've actually posted about not being allowed in pet stores-- pretty sure I have. Just in case, I'll add "Part 4."

I gave in to temptation today.

I bought a baby silkie bearded dragon.

I've never had a baby silkie before and it seems important to have that skill base. Right?!? ;) No name yet. I'll post more pics when I think of a name.

Also, I bought another tree frog.

I originally bought 3 tree frogs for my little terrarium, but 2 of them died. Then I just had one lonely frog. Last week (or the week before), I bought another frog. And today, I bought a third. Now I have 3 frogs back. The pic shows 2 of the 3 resting.

I have been avoiding the local feed stores because I LOVE baby chicks! I end up buying baby chicks when I see them. Now I'll have to start avoiding the cool pet stores that have unusual pets (like frogs & silkie babies).

Rosie the frog Comes Back

Rosie is my frog (sorta) who has been living at my friend's house for the last 6 months. With all the animals I had last year, I didn't have much time to take good care of the 3 frogs I bought at a local reptile expo. That's when Mary stepped in and fostered my frogs. It didn't take very long for 2 of the 3 frogs to die. :( But Rosie grew and did great.

Mary had surgery yesterday and will be in recovery for quite some time. To help out, I took the frog back.

I love frogs. They are adorable and fun to watch! I'm just not proving to be such a good frog owner. Perhaps if I didn't have two tegus that acted like toddler divas and 14 bearded dragons and a bunch of other things going on, I'd be a better frog owner.

I'm hopeful that Rosie will go back to her "Real" home when Mary is back to normal! :) And then I can be Rosie's "foster" home.

Random Phone Pics

My ridiculously photogenic dog, Teddy.

My new frog tank. I've never had tree frogs and, since I had all the supplies to set up a good tank, I bought 3 green tree frogs.

Our axolotl, a creepy cute fish thing.

My daughter's beardie Tiger. He's almost 2 and "pocket-sized."

Found a box big enough for Heidi and Derp so they could share. Sadly, Heidi still pushed Derp out sometime in the middle of the night.

Dragon looking like a beach ball because he hasn't pooped for 3 days. He pooped this morning and looks fine now.

I've been taking Smaug upstairs to work with me. He likes to run around and explore. It's the only area without another beardie for him to freak out over. He has been trying to intimidate Junie, the grumpy iguana, but it's not working.

Smaug is a very sweet (and BIG) beardie. I'm looking for a home for him where he can be the ONLY beardie now and for the rest of his life. Other beardies make him too crazy & aggressive. By himself, he is gentle and mellow.

And a random funny photo saved to my phone.
