Pixie at the Vet

We took Pixie in for her yearly checkup today. 

She had a great time exploring the exam room while we waited for the vet. 

She *hated* the actual exam! But we didn't have to sedate her. 

She's great-- healthy weight and skin and eyes and teeth. No bloodwork needed, but they are running a fecal test just to be safe.

Hedgehogs are cute! But VERY hard to keep as pets. I don't recommend them as beginning pets. Guinea pigs are WAY easier. Do lots of research before you get a hedgie and try to adopt first. Hedgies are solo and nocturnal so they are not great pets for kids.

We added a baby hedgehog to the family tonight. Technically she's my daughter's, but we'll all love on her. 

Pixie is a 2 month old pinto hedgehog. She's settling in tonight to her new cage, etc.
