I've had migraines for years and years. This year alone, I was having 3 a week. On March 10th, I decided to try getting a daith piercing in my right ear (since my migraines are 97% on the right side of my head).
I read online that statistically no one can prove if they work or not and that it seems to be an Internet myth more than anything. I wasn't overly convinced by what I read, but I was desperate!
It's now April 4th and I haven't used my prescription meds for a migraine since March 10th. I've had a few headaches that 2 ibuprofen took care of. There have been a couple times when I felt a migraine coming, but the feeling disappeared. It reminds me of a Dementor rushing towards Harry Potter and then simply disappearing before contact.
It's been a miracle & a blessing. Even though my piercing got infected and I had to take 2 weeks if antibiotics, it's been totally worth it. I have my yearly check up with my migraine doctor on Thursday and I can't wait to tell her about it. I was skeptical before, but am becoming a big believer.
So far I have one friend who has gotten the piercing too and is also migraine free two weeks in.
This is today. My ear is red because I was rubbing the piercing trying to twist the ball towards the top of my ear.
